One Tree Planted
Since 2019, we have partnered with One Tree Planted to support reforestation and ecosystem restoration around the world. To date, our partnership has supported the planting of more than 450,000 trees across 14 countries, including forest ecosystems connected to the regions where we source our paper. That is roughly twenty-five times the number of trees growing in Central Park.
This approach helps create a closer link between restoration and the natural resources that make publishing possible. By supporting projects within or near the regions where we source our paper, we aim to contribute to the health and resilience of the broader landscapes, ecosystems, and communities connected to those resources.
The partnership reflects our long-term commitment to responsible publishing and a thoughtful relationship with the materials behind our books. Alongside responsible paper sourcing, our support for forest restoration helps contribute to healthier landscapes and a more resilient future for people and the planet.
WHY FORESTS MATTER
One Tree Planted is a non-profit dedicated to reforestation and landscape restoration. Its work goes beyond planting trees, helping degraded forests and ecosystems recover through a global network of planting partners.
- 489 million hectares (roughly 1.2 billion acres) of forest have been lost to deforestation globally since 1990.
