About Andrea Fazzari

Andrea Fazzari is a Tokyo-based, James Beard Award-winning photographer, author, and cultural storyteller whose work captures the intimate beauty of place through the lens of food, travel, and design. With a background in fashion and film public relations for Giorgio Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, and Miramax Films, Fazzari transitioned into photography to pursue her passion for exploring the world’s visual and culinary narratives. Fluent in English, French, Italian, and Spanish, she has traveled to over ninety countries and lived in seven—including Italy, France, Hong Kong, Thailand, and Spain—before calling Japan home. Her global perspective and elegant visual sensibility make her a singular voice in modern travel and food photography.

 

Selected Bibliography

Andrea Fazzari is the author, photographer, and co-designer of Tokyo Chic (Assouline, 2023) and Sushi Shokunin: Japan’s Culinary Masters (Assouline, 2020), both of which spotlight Japanese aesthetics and culinary heritage. Her earlier works include Tokyo New Wave: 31 Chefs Defining Japan’s Next Generation (2018), and Aperitivo (2016), shot entirely on location in Italy, where she also served as stylist. As a tastemaker and contributor to Hotel Stories (Assouline, 2013) and the Luxury Collection Destination Guides (2010), Fazzari brings her distinctive point of view to every project she touches.
