The idea that the finest things in life are the moments we share is the foundation of the Game Room, the second chapter in Assouline's Library Collection. The Game Room brings together a selection of timeless games, from backgammon and chess to playing cards and dominoes, reimagined through rich woods, pebbled leathers, and brushed brass. As with every object in the Library Collection, each piece reflects the highest level of craftsmanship. Envisioned as a dialogue between play and design, the Game Room is for those who gather and connect. It embodies Assouline's spirit of conviviality, bringing warmth, sophistication, and a playful sense of beauty to any interior.

The items in the Library Collection are housed in elegant boxes, each designed with interiors that perfectly mold to the shape of the object it holds. As beautiful as the treasures themselves, the premium packaging is crafted from durable materials, including foam and a textured paper exterior. This ensures both a safe and luxurious delivery experience.

LIBRARY TIC-TAC-TOE: HOW TO PLAY

The goal
Two players take turns placing their pieces on a grid three squares wide and three squares high, one playing X and the other the book. The first to line up three of their own pieces in a row, horizontally, vertically, or diagonally, wins the game; a grid filled completely with no three in a row ends the round in a draw.

Playing a turn
Players alternate turns, each placing one mark in any open square, X moving first by convention. Once placed, a mark stays for the rest of the round: nothing is moved, and nothing is removed.

A note on strategy
The center square sits on more possible winning lines than any other, four in total, making it the strongest opening claim on the board. A corner comes next, taking part in three lines to an edge square's two. Watch, above all, for the fork, a move that opens two winning lines at once: with only one turn to answer it, an opponent can block just one, and the game is already decided.
